Everglades Airboat Eco-Tour

Step into one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world with this thrilling Everglades Airboat Eco-Tour!

Tour Overview and Itinerary Details

The Real Everglades Experience away from Tourist Traps
This tour is not just sightseeing — it’s a meaningful, eco-conscious experience that supports the Native community and contributes to the preservation of the Everglades ecosystem.
Completely different from the overcrowded commercial parks and massive airboats most agencies use. Instead, you’ll explore the real Everglades in an authentic and intimate way.
Your adventure begins with luxury transportation in a Mercedes Sprinter Van (14 seats) or a Chevrolet Suburban SUV, both
fully licensed, insured, and designed for
small groups.
Once inside the Indian reservation, you’ll board a small, open-air airboat with elevated tiered seats, offering the best views and a far more personal experience than the 50+ passenger covered boats of the tourist parks. In most cases, our group
( max 14 pax) enjoys a 1-hour ride, with no other passengers.
The airboat covers miles of untouched wetlands, gliding through sawgrass prairies, mangrove forests, and cypress swamps. The experience also include stops at two private islands ( hammocks) passed down through generations of one of the most important Miccosukee Indian families. Once used as traditional hunting camps, today these islands are home to rescued and rehabilitated alligators and turtles, cared for and protected by the family. The second island is where this Miccosukee family lived until 1962 and it now serves as an educational site and gathering place where younger generations reconnect with tribal traditions. Here you may spot the legendary "Papa Alligator" or "Mama Alligator" and you'll have the chance to walk a short boardwalk.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history, culture, and traditions of the Miccosukee tribes.
At the end of your tour, enjoy some free time to visit the Indian reservation handicraft store (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), where you’ll find authentic, locally made crafts. A quick driving tour inside the reservation will follow.
Throughout the journey, your certified multilingual driver-guide will provide commentary during the transfer, while your airboat captain shares insights in English about the Everglades, often called the “River of Grass.”

Captured Moments

Why Travelers Love Tours by Max

"Great communication from the start. Booked this for the day we came off our cruise and wasn’t sure what time we would disembark. I messaged Max and he quickly accommodated us with a pickup time to suit. Got a text the day before confirming the time then a couple of texts on the day letting us know of delays due to traffic. Max picked us up in his Suburban and once in he put a headset on and talked to us about Miami, the Everglades and the Miccosukee Indian tribe who run the airboat tour. Max is well informed regarding the area of the Everglades and its wildlife with literature to read and even showed a snake skin. As well as giving us the WiFi password for his car! When we got to the airboat destination we met Mike our pilot. He was great fun. He took us out and managed to find a number of alligators of different sizes as well as birds. We then went over the road to the Indian village where you can get tours but we didn’t do this. All in all a great tour and highly recommended"
