Tour Overview and Itinerary Details
The Florida Keys are a unique and iconic destination at the southern tip of Florida, stretching over 110 miles from the mainland, surrounded by the vibrant blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. We will drive over the U. S. Route 1. This 113-mile highway will offer breathtaking views of the ocean, making it one of the most scenic drivers in the United States. We will make some stops on the way to Key West.
After crossing 42 bridges, we will arrive to Key West, known as the "Conch Republic": The southernmost city in the continental United States, known for its laid-back atmosphere, colorful architecture, beautiful beaches, and historic sites like the Ernest Hemingway House and Truman Little White House. You can explore the city on your own starting from Duval Street, a hub of activity and entertainment. Of course we can not miss the 90 miles landmark, where Key West is just 90 miles away from Cuba. On the way back, we will make at least one stop to visit Hemingway's Pilar ( the sister ship)
Itinerary
We will starting our tour at your pick up location. Our Pick up/Drop off area includes Miami Beach, Downtown, Brickell, MIA, Port of Miami. Additional picks up/Drop off area may require an additional charge. We may also pick you up/drop you off at FLL and Port Everglades ( additional charge).
We can make a quick stop at local Cuban bakery to sip a Cuban coffee and some pastries ( included). The whole ride to key West would take approximately 3 to 4 hours with some stops on the way. We can visit the Wild Bird Sanctuary in Tavernier, feeding the Tarpons at Islamorada and see the Pilar (Ernest Hemingway's boat), the sister boat of the Pilar actually on display in Cuba.
We will get to Key West and we will make the first stop at the 90 mile buoy, which is the southernmost point of the continental United States, just 90 miles away from Cuba. Once in Key West, you would be able to see a lot of interesting and historic places like : Mallory Square, the Historic Seaport, Duval Street, Whitehead Street, the southernmost point, the Lighthouse, the Hemingway House, the Truman's Little White House, and more. You also have time to visit on your own and take your time. It's a private tour!
